An expansion kit designed to give the A1000 real kickstart 1.2 chips in ROM form, so that the kickstart disk is no longer required.

The ROMs should be installed into U2N and U2P (two sets of 28 solder-holes) on the motherboard. In addition it is necessary to modify jumpers on the motherboardf, and replace a PAL (Programmable Array Logic) chip.

  1. Replace the 20pin PAL 16L8A-2CN chip located at U6J on the WCS daughterboard with the new chip supplied in the kit
  2. Desolder (using a desoldering vacuum pump) the holes at U2N and U2P.
  3. Modify jumpers W2 and W4.
