The Wordsync 2000 is a full length (if you include rails) Zorro II SCSI-1 card, based on the NCR5380 chipset. There is enough space to mount a drive directly onto the card. The RP3 socket is for a resistor pack which is needed to correctly terminate the SCSI bus. "AMAB" which is printed on the card stands for "Amiga Autoboot" ands requires at least Kickstart 1.3 to work. The card does not use DMA. The card does however do buffering where two 8bit transfers are buffered and transfered as one 16bit chunk.
The predecessor to this card was called the ByteSync and was almost the same except it lacked buffering.
