The ProRAM 3000 is a full-length Zorro-III memory expansion board designed for the A3000, but can be used in the A4000 as well. The ProRAM 3000 accepts 1 Meg or 4 Meg 30-pin SIMMs. The modules are placed in four banks each holding four modules. 1 Meg and 4 Meg modules can be mixed but each bank must be complete and contain the same sized SIMMs. The RAM on the ProRAM 3000 is only about 80% the speed of the motherboard memory.

Memory Link - Jumper 5
OFF = Enable Memory
ON = Disable Memory
Placing a jumper on position 5 will prevent the computer from adding ProRAM's memory to the free memory list. This allows the memory test program to check all the memory on the ProRAM 3000. For normal operation, you must remove this jumper.
Compatibility
The ProRAM is designed for the A3000 but can be used in the A4000 as well. The only problem is that the memory test program does not like the 68040 and probably the 68060 (probably the Copy Back Mode). The result is that all memory modules are reported as bad. The solution is to boot your computer with a disk without the 68040.library.
